Maristhella A. “Christy” Martin, 56, of Lima passed away at 7:05 PM on Friday, October 29, 2021 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 6, 1965 in Masinloc, Zambales, Philippines to Conchita (Amorante) Ussery, and was adopted by Robert Ussery, who both preceded her in death. On June 1, 1985, she married Kevin J. Martin, who survives in Lima.
Christy was a member of New Life Assembly Church, in which she was very active, including having been the Co-Director of Vacation Bible School this past summer. She recently retired in July of 2021 from the Bowsher License Bureau where she had worked for over 20 years. She was affectionately referred to as “The License Bureau Lady”.
Christy trusted in Jesus, and served Him by serving others. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, who she doted on any chance she could. She also loved to cook and have others over for dinner. Hospitality was her specialty. She also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening.
Surviving in addition to her loving husband Kevin J. Martin are her daughters Jennifer (Luke) Feeney of Findlay and Deborah (Joshua) Lee of Lima; her grandchildren Lyla, Lois, Levi and Nathan Feeney; her siblings Kathleen Salinas of North Carolina, Diane (Gary) Latterall, Jodi (Larry) Eckel, Scott (Meaghan) Baynes all of Minnesota and Carrie (Jason) Mann of Colorado; and her father Richard (Sherry) Baynes of St. Cloud, Minnesota.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 5, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, with Pastor Bob Wardle officiating.
Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery will immediately follow the services.
