Marilyn R. Leis, 87, passed away December 13, 2022, at 7:51 am, Lima Memorial Health System, surrounded by her loving family.
Marilyn was born February 8, 1935 in Bucyrus, OH, to Thomas “Tom” and Bernice (Brown) Murphy who both preceded her in death. On September 16, 1958 she married Robert “Bob” Leis.
Marilyn graduated from Maumee Valley School of Nursing in 1956. She worked as an RN until her oldest child was born. She then became a homemaker and enjoyed raising their four children. Marilyn and Bob were members of Family of Faith United Methodist Church. She was very active at the church, cooking and baking various foods and being involved with the Girl Scouts. Marilyn and Bob also enjoyed their yearly camping trips to Sebring, FL and Indian Lake State Park, where they met so many great people and have many cherished memories. She was a proud animal lover and had various cats and dogs through the years. Some of her hobbies included: cooking, baking, playing bingo and dominos with her family. Marilyn cherished her husband, Bob and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Leis of Lima, OH, children, Michael “Mike” (Shanda) Leis of Findlay, OH, Lyle (Lisa) Leis of Lima, OH, Kathleen “Kathy” (Patrick “Pat”) Grine of Fostoria, OH, William “Bill” (Melissa “Missy”) Leis of Harrod, OH, grandchildren, Elizabeth Leis of IN, Benjamin Leis of Bluffton, OH, Samuel Grine of Bowling Green, OH, Meredith Grine of Fostoria, OH, Mitchell Leis of Jacksonville, NC, Kelli Leis of Cleveland, OH, brother, Roger Murphy of Phoniex, AZ and sister-in-law, Margaret Murphy of Bucyrus, OH.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Daryl Murphy, Glenn (Marilyn) Murphy, Jane (Roger) Rothhaar and sister-in-law, Sandy Murphy.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 11:00 am at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Pastor Jeff Ridenour to officiate the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and one hour prior to the service at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL.
Memorial contributions may be made to Family of Faith United Methodist Church or charity of donor’s choice.
