Marian E. Weaver, 99, of Lima died peacefully on January 19, 2023 at The Springs of Lima.

She was born on October 5, 1923 in Lima, Ohio to the late George and Laura Bigham Weaver.

Marian graduated on January 16, 1942 from Lima Central High School and 14 days later began her forty-two year career at Westinghouse Electric Corporation. During her tenure at Westinghouse she assisted in the manufacturing of airplane parts, PC boards and panels for aircraft. There, she met lifelong friends and travel companions.

In her early years, Marian enjoyed driving across the United States, seeing national treasures and exploring many states. She loved animals and often had several cats and dogs, including strays from the Jameson Avenue neighborhood. She rarely missed a family birthday celebration or holiday hosted by her Lima niece, Becki. Almost every day, until age 98, she drove to the Kewpee, Allentown Road, for her daily cheeseburger with mustard and Pepsi. She was the caregiver to her parents and sister, Doris. She impeccably maintained the family home for over 75 years.

Survivors include many of her 1st through 4th generation Weaver nieces and nephews from all over the United States.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Weaver and Ruth (John) Honert, three brothers George (Milamae), Forrest (LaDonna) and Emmet (Alfretta) Weaver.

The family would like to thank her niece, Rebecca Ford, for her devotion as her caretaker in the final months of Marian’s life. The Springs of Lima staff, fellow Spring residents, Mercy Lima Hospice, and Dr. Edward Tremoulis for their outstanding care, tenderness and acts of dignity toward our beloved aunt.

Visitation will be held at Chiles-Laman Shawnee Chapel on Wednesday, January 25, at 10:00 am, with funeral services at 11:00 am. A graveside service will be held immediately following at Memorial Park. Reverend Megan Croy-Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate.

The service may be viewed online at www.Chiles-LamanFH.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lima area animal rescue and care facilities: Deb’s Dogs and the Ohio SPCA.
