Margaret Mae Frazee (Volbert) 95, let the Lord take her on September 8, 2022.

She was born on August 27, 1927 to Aloysius and Clelah (Garee) Volbert. She is survived by her 4 children, Thomas (Jackie) Frazee, Judy Brenek, Stan (Connie) Frazee and Nancy (Denny) Fricke. She had 10 grandchildren: Julie Frazee (Dave Conrad), Jan Frazee, Sheri (Steve) Piatt, Kimberly Hardewig, Stephani (Chad) Newsome, Neven (Laura) Frazee, Marissa (Chad) Skaggs, Jason (Rebecca) Boughan, Bruce (Aundrea) Fricke and Tim (Sharon) Boughan. She also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren: Emily (Taylor), Matthew (Annie), Aria, Max, Macy, Kenzie, Seth, Arwyn, Riley, Kaya, Jenna, Talon, Bentley, Maddox, Lexus, Sebastian and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Allen Frazee, her parents and her 3 brothers.

Margaret graduated from Shawnee High School in 1945. She married the love of her life Allen Frazee on June 14, 1948. They were married 71 years until his passing in 2019. She and Allen enjoyed bowling, square dancing with the Sues and Ques club, and camping and traveling. At a state square dance convention, they were honored as a State Honors Couple.

During her life, Margaret enjoyed working many jobs, including as a cashier at both A&P and Kroger, she was the manager of the Nickle’s bakery thrift store, worked many years at Nickle’s bakery, she retired from Buckeye Rubber Company. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Rita’s and then she worked as the breakfast hostess at the Lima Hampton Inn for many years where she twice was honored with the Rose Award for hospitality.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, The Eagles, American Legion Auxiliary and St. John’s Church Altar and Rosary Society.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, September 12, 2022 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL, 828 Bellefontaine Ave, Lima. The family will also receive friends for one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Tuesday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at St. John Catholic Church, with Fr. David M. Ross officiating.

Interment will immediately follow the Mass in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Catholic Church.
