Margaret L. Van Dyke, 74, passed away May 6, 2018, at 11:34AM, at Lima Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born March 4, 1944 in Jackson, OH, to Claude and Gretta (Stevens) Miller who preceded her in death. On December 28, 1968 she married Ronald Van Dyke who survives in Lima, Ohio.
Margie retired as a School Bus Driver with Allen County Board of DD and had driven bus for Lima RTA and Perry Schools. She was an active member at First Church of the Nazarene. She loved flowers, especially the pretty ones. Christmas was her most cherished time of the year. Margaret also loved her grandchildren dearly.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Ronald Van Dyke, children, William “Bill” (Mamie) Van Dyke of Beaverdam, OH, Mark (Lorie) Van Dyke of Lima, OH, siblings, Kathy L. Miller of Ft. Wayne, IN, Mary J. Miller – Minick of Ft. Wayne, IN, sister-in-law, Deb (Forest) (d) Hale of Lima, OH, grandchildren, Natalie (Chris) Smith of Cridersville, OH, Samantha (Corey) Dunlap of Columbus Grove, OH, Jamilyn Van Dyke of Lima, OH, Matraca (Jake) Roose of Mountain Home, ID, great-grandchildren, Iris Van Dyke, Drake Dunlap, Benjamin Smith, Madeleine Smith, and one to be born in June, she also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Claudette (Bud) Clyce, and Betty Ruth Marker.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 2:00PM at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL HOME, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Dan Campbell to officiate the service with Pastor Ed Holmgren to assist. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene (Son Lunch Fund), 300 W Elm Street, Lima, Ohio 45801.
The family requests that folks please do not bring food to the house.
