Makyla Rachelle Whitt, 26 of Lima, passed away August 7, 2022, at 6:45 pm, at her residence.

Makyla was born April 4, 1996 in Lima, to Damon Avery and Michelle (Whitt) Manley; her father survives her in Lima and her mother survives her in Elida.

Makyla was a 2014 graduate of WCLA and she loved crafting, especially diamond dots and latch hook. She was a member of Hearts In Motion Dance Studio and was an incredibly talented dancer, specializing in tap, ballet, jazz and hip-hop. Makyla loved cooking, especially making chili. Also, animals and children held a special place in her heart. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Makyla will be deeply missed and remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her siblings, Rammie Manley, Jr., Marcus Whitt, Destiny Beckett, Premier Dupree, Rayanna Manley, Isaac Manley and Chase Avery; step-father, Rammie Manley Sr.; step-mother, Laura Avery; nephew, Elijah Brown; children of the heart, Kalani Graves, Carina Felton and Coralynn Felton; paternal grandmother, Linda (Darryl) Garrett; maternal grandmother, Naleta Whitt and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Makyla is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Harvey Whitt; paternal great-grandparents, Allen & Eliza Avery; maternal great-grandfather, Kenneth Longbrake and her maternal great-grandmother, Luanna Penn.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 14, 2022 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES – SHAWNEE CHAPEL with Rev. David Schneer to officiate the service. Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 15, 2022 in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 14, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the time of the service, at the funeral home.
