Mabel Cook Schaadt, 95, passed away at 3:30 pm, March 24, 2021 at Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville, OH.
She was born at home February 7, 1926 in Union County, OH, to John and Ava (Smith) Epps who preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by husbands, Charles H. Cook and Paul Schaadt; son, Charles Cook; a grandson; and four great-grandsons. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include: son, Thomas H. (Marilyn) Cook of Hilliard; daughter, Ava (Dr. David) Farst of Arcanum, OH; daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Larry) Winner of Dublin, OH; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Mabel was a resident of Lima, OH from 1945-1977, Columbus, OH from 1977-2018, and Greenville, OH from 2018 until present. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church her entire life. She served as a longtime volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima, OH and Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, OH. She was a lifetime member and an active volunteer of the Salvation Army in Lima, OH and Columbus, OH.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1751 Spencerville Rd., Lima, OH 45805 with Dr. Eugene Folden officiating.
