M. Jeanine Colgrove, age 71, was called home to the Lord at 3:39 pm Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the Dorothy Love Retirement Center in Sidney, Ohio with the love of her three children by her side.

Jeanine was born March 22, 1949 in St. Paul, MN, to William and Mary Treva (Kilgore) Colgrove who both preceded her in death.

Jeanine was a 1967 graduate of Lima Senior High School and a 1971 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Bob Jones University, graduating with a double major in French and History. Jeanine worked as a Dietary Director at area hospitals and nursing homes throughout her career and a teacher. Jeanine was an exceptional cook and loved music, dancing, entertaining her sons during football games, Ohio State, Notre Dame and “Blue Michigan.” She also loved to garden with her daughter and she was an avid reader. She was a proud mom and grandma who especially loved spending time with her children and teaching her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children; Chad Pearson of Russia, Anthony “AJ” (Sarah) Pearson of Wilmington and Jade (Brett) Stover of Lima; special son, Bryan Pearson of Lima; five grandchildren, Micah, Anthony “Tony”, Gracsen “Grace”, Solace “Solly” and Grey; four sisters, Kathy (Tom) Moline of Midlothian, VA, Ann (Mark) Miller of Lima, Carolyn (Dave) Jordan of Lima, Linda Huber of Wytheville, VA and former husband, Otis Pearson of Lima.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son, Bobby Pearson.

She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and thanks to Krista, Julie and Mary at Dorothy Love.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Monday, February 1, 2021 at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Rev. Will Cole will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 pm Monday, February 1, prior to the service at the funeral home.
