M. Anne (McGrievy) Smith, age 72, passed away December 12, 2022, at 5:35 pm, at the Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center. Anne was born February 22, 1950, in Lima, OH, to Eugene and Marie (Lory) McGrievy who preceded her in death. On November 1, 1974, she married Ray W. Smith who survives in Lima.
In addition to her husband, Anne is survived by her children: Ray Smith Jr. of Lima, OH, Trevor (Theresa) Smith of Beavercreek, OH, Jason (Jolene) Smith of Lima, OH, Meagan (Mike) Pate of Ft. Wayne, IN, Shannon (Jon) Kumfer of Ft. Wayne, IN, Casey Smith and Courtney (Kyle) Roeder of Lima, OH, 20 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a brother, Michael (Happy) McGrievy of Calabash, NC, a sister, Kitty McGrievy of Columbus, OH and a special friend, Christine Cobb of Columbus, OH and her special pet dog, Nori.
Anne was a 1968 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. After high school she attended a dental assistant program in Elkhart, IN where she earned a certificate in dental hygiene. She had worked as a job coach with MRDD for more than 5 years. Most of her time was spent as a homemaker. Anne was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the Eagles #370. Anne most enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved going to Scioto Downs with her sister Kit where she played the penny slots. She was a craft show enthusiast, gardener and was an avid fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Green Bay Packers.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 11:00 am at the St. Charles Catholic Church. Officiating the Mass will be Fr. Kent Kaufman and Fr. David Ross. Burial of cremated remains will be held privately at a later date.
Friends may visit on Monday from 4-7 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
