Lula E. McNulty, age 83, passed away January 29, 2022, at 4:27 am, at her residence surrounded by her family. Lula was born October 12, 1938, in Buchanan County, Virginia to Edward L. and Stella M. (Addison) Shortt who preceded her in death. On September 22, 1958, she married Donald ‘Don’ McNulty who survives in Lima.
Lula spent her life as a homemaker raising her children and taking care of her family. She was a member of the True Word Tabernacle, Bluffton, OH. Some of her passions were quilting, flower gardening, collecting books and reading books and her bible. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandsons.
In addition to her husband, Lula is survived by her 2 sons: James D. (Karen) McNulty of Spencerville, OH and Johnny D. (Heather) McNulty of Unicoi, TN, 9 grandchildren: Hannah McNulty, Josiah (Zoe) McNulty, Abigail McNulty, Karena McNulty, James McNulty II, Mark (Allison) McNulty, Melissa (Aaron) Vaughan, Megan McNulty and Jared McNulty, 2 great grandchildren: Walker Vaughan and Aslan McNulty, 7 siblings: Don (Billie Jean) Shortt, Frances (Bob) Butcher, Frank (Sharon) Shortt, Ruthanne (Mack) Carter, Carol (Manuel) Wade, Bobby (Pat) Shortt and Randy (Teresa) Shortt and 2 sisters in-law: Patsy Shortt and Polly Shortt. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Wendell Shortt and E.L. Shortt.
There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Believers Christian Fellowship Church at 1695 Stewart Rd., Lima, OH, 45801. Officiating the service will be Rev. Ray Erickson. Burial will be in Bluelick Cemetery following the service.
Friends may visit on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL and then again one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Health St. Rita’s Hospice. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
