Lorna M. Stewart, age 71 of Elida, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 11:10 a.m., at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born March 1, 1951 in Lima, to Louis E. and C. Virginia (Galloway) Bryan who preceded her in death. On June 23, 1973 she married Patrick J. Stewart who survives.
Also surviving are their children: Patrick (Angie) Bryan Stewart of Lima and Kathlene (Philip) Marie Fuchs of Marysville; grandchildren, Ella & Cole Fuchs, Carson Heffner and Jillian Lieurance. The following siblings also survive: Linda Carter of Lima, Shelley Falk of Grove City, OH, Stacy (fiance Kenneth Barker) Thompson, David Bryan, James Bryan, Charles (Rhonda) Bryan all of Lima; and the following in-laws: James (Lynda) Stewart of Lima, Kathy (Paul, dec’d) Cronican of Cincinnati, Dan (Cindy) Stewart of Wolcottville, IN, Mary Beth (Gary) Timmons of Loveland, OH, Sheila (Matt) Hoffmann of Columbus, Diane (Harry) Marshall of Elida, Bill (Cheryl) Stewart of Columbus and Karen (Brad) Houston of Wilder, KY, plus lots of nieces and nephews.
Lorna was a 1969 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. She had been employed at St. Rita’s Medical Center and Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio in the insurance billing department. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #370. She loved to cook and dote on her grandchildren.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2022 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, with Fr. Mike Sergi to officiate the service. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-6 p.m. at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services. A Parish Wake service will be held at 5:45 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or A.S.P.C.A.
