Linda Kay Skelly, age 80, passed away at 4:20 p.m. Thursday, November 25, 2021, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center with her family by her side.
Linda was born December 3, 1940 in Lima, OH, to James and Mary (Sullivan) Morris who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Arnold Hoelscher. On December 13, 1958 she married Carl Edward Skelly who preceded her in death on May 14, 2016 after 57 years of marriage.
Linda was a 1958 graduate of Lima Senior High School. She worked for more than 30 years at Lazarus / Macy’s where she had worked as a sales associate and in human resources. Linda enjoyed spending time with her friends from Macy’s and she especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by four daughters, Cheryl Zimmerly of Lima, Leslie (Tarek) Katbi of Portland, OR, Marcia Skelly of Columbus and Jodi Skelly of Hilliard; seven grandchildren, Jared (Katie) Zimmerly, Philip (Sharon) Zimmerly, Tyler (Tricia) Kilpatrick, Olivia Katbi, Clay Kilpatrick, Ashley Kilpatrick and Lauren (James) Mundy; six Great-grandchildren, Madison Zimmerly, Casey Zimmerly, Simon Zimmerly, Charlee Postle, Caleb Kilpatrick and Nora Zimmerly; two sisters, Kathy Davis and Beth (Fred) Snyder; brother, Jim (Jody) Morris and Brother-in-law, Dean Skelly.
In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Katbi and son-in-law, Dan Zimmerly.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m, Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Tim Lewis will officiate the service. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, prior to the service at the funeral home.
