Leonard A. Theis, 89, of Lima passed away at 12:14 PM on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

He was born on July 1, 1933 in Allen County to George and Florence (Burkholder) Theis, who both preceded him in death. On September 6, 1980, he married Edith K. (Rumpf) Theis, who preceded him in death on February 17, 2011.

Leonard retired from Textron after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Army National Guard for 16 years and Cable Road Alliance Church. He was a Past Master of the former Ada Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Shawnee Commandery. He enjoyed fishing as well as traveling.

Surviving are his son Kevin Theis of Harrod; his eight grandchildren; his eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his brother Garry Theis of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his daughters Patricia Lawrence and Sondra Prine; his brothers Charles, Roger and Vernon Theis;

Private family services and inurnment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery Columbarium at a later date at the convenience of the family.
