Larry “Chirp” E. Krouse, 73, passed away on February 12, 2023, at 1:19 pm, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born October 11, 1949 in Wauseon, OH, to Marion “Cricket” and Geraldine (Phillips) Krouse who both preceded him in death. On April 16, 1977 he married Kimberly “Kim” (Bodkin) Krouse who survives in Lima, Ohio.
Larry graduated from Spencerville High School in 1969. He was the proud co owner of Spencerville Lumber Yard for roughly fifteen years. Larry then became a salesman at Lima Lincoln Mercury (Reineke Nissan) and retired after thirty years of service. He was a proud member of the Hamburger Quest Club and loved hanging out with his close friends. Larry also enjoyed golfing at various courses in the Lima Community. He was a season ticket holder for The Shawnee Indians Basketball Team and enjoyed watching THE Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday’s. He was a family man and loved his wife dearly and cherished his children. Larry and his family loved camping and always looked forward to traveling to Mohican State Park in Loudonville, OH. For those that knew Larry, understood he was quite an ornery fella and everyone enjoyed his presence.
Larry is survived by his wife, Kimberly “Kim” Krouse of Lima, OH, children, Shannon Krouse of Columbus, OH, Scott (Annaliese) Krouse of Columbus, OH, sister, Deb Koenig of Willoughby, OH, mother-in-law, Marilyn (Weaver) Bodkin of Lima, OH, brothers-in-law, Steve (Leslie) Bodkin of Columbus, OH, Doug (Melisa) Bodkin of Columbus, OH, Greg Bodkin of Galion, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Allen Bodkin and brother-in-law, Tag Koenig.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association or Alzheimer’s Association.
