LaRose V. (Wolff) Theis passed on at 11:12 pm, February 13, 2023 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 23, 1932 to the late William and Mahala (Stukenbrok) Nuesmeyer. She married Paul C. Wolff on October 23, 1953 who preceded her in death on June 6, 1969. LaRose later married Garry Lynn Theis on September 16, 1972 and he survives.
LaRose graduated from St Marys Memorial High School (1950) and Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing (1953) and retired from nursing at LMH in 1990. She had been a 4H advisor. She was a leader and not a follower. After her retirement, she was active with her husband on various veterans organizations including the USS FDR Ladies Auxiliary, having served five times as the president and also worked many years on the newsletter for Chapter 89 of the Vietnam Veterans.
In addition to her husband, LaRose is survived by her children Cynthia (John) First, Barbara (Ronald) Ingle and Ronald (Ellen) Wolff; her grandchildren Jennifer (Jon) Hower, April (Adam) Miller and Dustin (Renee) Ingle; her great-grandchildren Kaycie Gilkey, Brycen Hattery, Wyatt Ingle, Cora Ingle, Adalynn Rose Miller and 3 step-great-grandchildren as well as Nuesmeyer nieces and nephews and Wolff nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathleen Yvonne; her sister Mildred, brothers Vernon, Robert and Forest, and brothers-in law Harold, James, John and sister-in-law Marjorie.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, 101 E. Main Street, Lafayette, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the church.
Rev. Ryan Cordle will officiate the services.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date at the convenience of the family.
