Through the years he also served as the 3rd Ward City Councilman for the City of Lima, and was famous for his one liners, but most notably he had been a Barney Fife impersonator since 2004 and was an integral part of many, many car shows and benefits around Lima.

Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon Lewis of Lima are his son Dr. Adam (Cynthia) Lewis of McMinnville, OR; his daughter Jamie (Doug) Gross of North Lewisburg, OH; his step-sons Jason and Joshua (Tayrn) High, both of Lima; his twin brother Lyle (Lynette) Lewis of Elida; his sister Carla (John) Olds of Traverse City, MI; his grandchildren Brian, Joshua, Lainey, Ryder; his step-grandchildren Ethan and Zachary. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Michael Price of Lima and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.

His son Rev. Adam Lewis and Pastor Mark Bayliff will co-officiate the services.

In true Kyle Lewis/Barney Fife fashion, he wanted everyone to know “NIP IT IN THE BUD”
