Kathy Rudolph, beloved sister, friend and daughter of John and Mary Rudolph, died unexpectedly following surgery at the age of 63. She is remembered fondly for her loving ways, kind heart and incredible giving spirit. Kathy never met a stranger and cared deeply about all people — especially her friends and family.
As a gifted artist, Kathy loved creativity and embraced beauty in life and everything around her. Kathy specialized in portraits and abstract art, working in a wide variety of media. In recent years she especially loved to share her art by giving it away to friends, family and sometimes people she just met. She was also known for being talented at interior design, easily transforming a house into a home.
Kathy graduated from Bath High School and was very active in choir, cheerleading, track and basketball. She continued her education at Hillsdale College before transferring to Southern Methodist University, earning her Bachelor degree in Art Education. She was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Kathy also furthered her education with graduate classes in Interior Design at the University of Illinois.
Kathy was passionate about Music and Traveling the world, often combining the two. Some noticed that she had a bit of a “Hippie” in her, a desire for adventure and a consistent spontaneity in each concert or trip. While she traveled, she enjoyed music, collecting art, and other beautiful things along the way.
Kathy also had a great love of animals particularly dogs. Her current best friend, Maggie, will miss her greatly. Kathy always went out of her way to spoil her pets and show them great love.
As an adult, Kathy became committed to her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Through the years, Kathy shared her faith with many. She modeled her faith by serving others, showing grace and being loving.
Kathy will be missed greatly by a family who cherished her dearly. She is survived by three siblings, Susie Cornell, Jim (Cindy) Rudolph and Rich (Jan) Rudolph, a sister-in-law, Nancy Rudolph and eight nieces and nephews, and one great nephew: Elizabeth (David) Entinghe, Caroline (Ian) Munsick, Johnny Rudolph, John Cornell, Sarah Cornell, Ryan Malooly, Skyler Malooly, Zion Rudolph and Crawford Munsick.
