Karen L. Johnson, age 70, passed away on September 19, 2022, at 3:08 am, at the Celina Manor. Karen was born October 14, 1951, in Lancaster, OH, to Kenneth and Thelma (Young) Swackhammer who preceded her in death. On July 10, 1993, she married Carl D. Johnson who survives in Mendon, OH.
In addition to her husband, Karen is survived by her 3 children: Dennis (Loretta) Johnson, Darrell Johnson and Carla Johnson all of Lima, OH, 5 grandchildren: Michael (Ashley) Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Rachael Musser, Scott (Leacy) Johnson and Trista Johnson, 10 great grandchildren, 2 brothers: Larry (Connie) Swackhammer of Columbus, OH and Tom (April) Swackhammer of Patriot, OH a sister, Donna (Randy) Neville of PA and a cousin Carolyn “Sis” Bell of Bremen, OH. She was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Gibson.
Karen had worked for many years as a home health aide caring for children with disabilities. She was a member of the Voice of Victory Bible Methodist Church in Waynesfield, OH. Karen loved crafts, reading and coloring.
There will be a funeral service held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Rev. Randy Neville and Rev. James Baker. Burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date.
Friends may visit on Friday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist the family with funeral expenses. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
