Judith D. “Judy” Lawrence, age 80, was called into the presence of the Lord at 12:25 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Lima Convalescent Home.

Judy was born February 7, 1942 in Lima, OH, to the late Dale and Ruth (Dardio) Price. On July 28, 1962 she married Paul L. Lawrence who preceded her in death on December 17, 2016.

Judy was a 1960 graduate of Elida High School. She graduated from Bluffton College with a degree in Education and obtained her Master’s Degree from the University of Dayton. Judy began her teaching career in Kentucky and later taught at Elida and retired from the Lima City Schools, where she taught at Irving Elementary for more than 25 years. Judy loved watching Perry Mason, I Love Lucy and Murder She Wrote. She was a devoted follower of the British Royal Family and was of Welsh Descent. She was a member of the Welsh Society of North West Ohio and the First Families of Allen County. Judy was also a member of the Ohio State Teachers Association and the Retired Irving Teachers Society (RITS). She was a talented seamstress and had made her niece’s wedding dress and her daughter’s flower girls and bridesmaids dresses. Judy especially loved traveling with her husband, Paul, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Robert) Hutchinson of Lafayette, OH and two grandsons, Travis (Sari Jones) Tuttle of Columbus, OH and Benjamin Lawrence of LaFayette, OH; brother, Barry Price, of Lima, OH; sister, Marsha Graham of Wauseon, OH and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Lawrence and three brothers-in-law, Ed Graham, James (Marilyn) Lawrence and David Lawrence.

Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Jim Neighbors will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Lima Convalescent Home and Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Hospice for the love and care given to Judy.
