Judith Ann “Judy” Nickles, age 80, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family at 9:39 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

Judy was born May 24, 1941 in Cincinnati, OH, to Glenn L. and Shirley M. (Shimer) Hornaday. On November 7, 1959 she married Harold Nickles.

Judy was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Lima. Judy enjoyed reading her Bible, shopping with her sister, crocheting and crossword puzzles, but her greatest happiness was when she was spending time with her family, especially her husband, children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harold Nickles; daughter, Shannon M. (Aaron) Donaldson; nine grandchildren, Kodi Nickles, Seth Nickles, Malachi Nickles, Keaton Howbert, Braxton A. Burkholder, Greyson L. Burkholder, Rhett Donaldson, Maeve Donaldson, and Marek Donaldson; great-granddaughter, Alexandria Nickles; siblings, Jeannie Harp, Ronald G. (Beverly) Hornaday, Carol J. Vann, Kenny P. Hornaday, Janice A. Alger, Ralph A. (Hope) DeLong Jr,, Pastor Steve A. (Susan) DeLong, Tami J. (John) McCoy; sisters-in-law, Halie Nickles, Katherine Nickles, Dallie (Lowell) Thomas, Mae Goldie (Joe) Davis, Mary Lou (Larry) Rapp and Eloise Nickles; brothers-in-law, Douglas M. (Sheila) Nickles, Bethel Lee (Judy) Nickles, and Bartee Nickles.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Glenn L. Hornaday; mom, Shirley M. DeLong; step-dad, Ralph A. DeLong Sr.; son, Allen Lee Nickles, sister, Cathy E. Westenberger, brothers, Glen L. DeLong and Kelley L. DeLong; brothers-in-law, Ralph (Shredo) Nickles, James (Flossie) Nickles, Hillard Nickles, Donald Ray Nickles, Paul E. Nickles, and sister-in-law Judy Belle Nickles.

Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Steve A. DeLong will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:-00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, prior to the service at the funeral home.
