June 9, 1958 - November 15, 2019
Joyce L. Baker, 61, passed away on November 15, 2019, at 8:30 am, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
Joyce was born June 9, 1958 in Tiffin, Ohio to Paul “Pete” Weber who preceded her in death and Jane Weber who survives in Lima.
Joyce graduated from Lima Central Catholic in 1976, and was a lifelong member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She enjoyed an extensive banking career, spanning over 40 years. During her time at both Huntington National Bank and Superior Credit Union, she became well known for her professionalism, organization, and her legendary customer service. Whether they were her beloved coworkers or customers from all walks of life, countless people were able to share in Joyce’s friendliness and capacity for always going above and beyond. She truly loved all those that she served, and was always able to make fast friends. Few things brought Joyce more happiness than the joy she found while restoring her home. Much like she did for the lives of all her friends and family, Joyce was adept at elevating and bringing out the beauty of her surroundings. She was an artist and a consummate renovator. She could often be found happily tending to her garden, growing and bringing new life to plants of all kinds. She also loved the Fighting Irish, and wouldn’t miss a chance to watch a Notre Dame football game with her loved ones. Above all else, Joyce cherished these loved ones most of all. She would often say that she was blessed and thankful to God, as are all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be sorely missed.
