Memphis, TN formerly of Lima

Joseph Franklin Rhinock, 91, died April 22, 2021 from complications related to dementia, in Memphis, TN. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharleen Johnson Rhinock.

Joseph was born and raised in Lima, Ohio. He served in the United States Air Force, had a long career with Ex-Cello Corporation, then retired to Chattanooga, TN, where he and his wife resided for 32 years. His parents were Franklin Sylvanus Rhinock and Stella Eva Smith who had six children. Only his sister, Mary Rhinock Pinch, survives in California. He joined the Episcopal Church in 1999. Joseph was a 22 year survivor of lung cancer.

Joseph is survived by his immediate family: stepson, Michael Joseph Wooten; grandchildren: Sharla Wooten Carsley (her husband, Jacob and two children) and Joseph Zebulon Wooten, (all of Memphis), and his daughter, Karen Rhinock, who lives in Ontario.

Graveside services will begin at 12:30 pm in Gethsemani Cemetery on Monday, May 3, 2021. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and the VFW #1275.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday, May 3, prior to the graveside at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
