Joan A. Sielschott, age 87, went home to Jesus at 5:50 a.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018, at the Mennonite Memorial Home
Joan was born June 27, 1931 in Marion, OH, to the late Ernest V. and Vivian (Anderson) Coulson. On March 18, 1951 she married B. Leonard “Len” Sielschott who preceded her in death on April 6, 2017.
Joan was a 1949 graduate of Mt. Victory High School and she was a graduate of the Northwestern Business School of Commerce. Joan had worked as a legal secretary for Jim Fisher and she had also worked alongside her husband Len in their family businesses in Rockford, Ohio. Most recently, Joan worked at Central Florida Aluminum in Palm Coast, Florida. Joan was accomplished at knitting and crocheting. Joan was an amazing wife and mother who especially loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three sons, James L. (Paula) Sielschott of Grove City, OH, David B. (Jill) Sielschott of Arlington, OH and Robert E. (Beda) Sielschott of Lima, OH; eight grandchildren, James (Darcia) Sielschott, Jr., Jason Sielschott, Adam Sielschott, Jon (Elizabeth) Sielschott, Emily (Austin) Borkosky, Tim (Katie) Sielschott, Stephanie (Ryan) Reindel and Matthew (Kelly) Sielschott; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Smallwood of Lima, Ohio and a sister-in-law, Betty Tenny of Lima, OH.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Coulson; sister, Ruth (Sam) Grabeman and brother-in-law, Bud Tenny.
Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Pastor Charles Boomhower will officiate the service. Private graveside services will be held Monday morning in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
