Jessica Catherine DeVoe of Lima died at 7:42 p.m. on April 22, 2022, at the Cleveland Clinic after an extended illness. She was 42 years old. Jessica was born on August 11, 1979, to Henry Michael and Beth Ann (Myers) DeVoe. She graduated from Bath High School in 1997, where she excelled in cross country, basketball, and track and field. In fact, she was a starting guard and three-point-sharpshooter on the Bath Wildkittens’ state runner-up basketball team in 1996.

She graduated from WMU with a B.A., then earned her J.D. from Ohio Northern University, and a master’s degree in tax law from the University of Florida. Jessica practiced law in the state of Florida and the state of Ohio before her prolonged illness took hold of her life.
Jessica was a sweet, kind, and caring person with a razor-sharp wit. She was talented, smart, and funny. She loved to cook, especially for her family. She had a big heart and was, in fact, responsible for finding her mother a donor for a kidney transplant to save her mother’s life. She was an active volunteer for a good part of her life with Shawnee United Methodist Church. Jessica’s smile lit up every room and she will be hugely missed by her parents, her son, her siblings, and her extended family.
Jessica was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Helen (Dyer) Myers, her maternal grandfather, Robert Myers, her paternal grandfather Fred M. DeVoe, and her paternal grandmother, Flora (Cardone) DeVoe, who died just six months ago.
Jessica leaves behind her mother and father, her son Nicholas LesCallett (Lima), her sister Andrea (DeVoe) Ross (Columbus, Ohio), her brother Evan DeVoe and his wife Shannon (Dunlap), both of Lima.
