Jerry L. Hagerman, 80, passed away on March 28, 2020, at 6:54 pm, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born April 23, 1939 in Louisville, KY, to Robert and Lenore (Cheney) Hagerman who both preceded him in death. On April 4, 1981 he married Mary (Askins) Hagerman who survives in Elida, OH.
Jerry attended Lima Central High School. He retired from Elida Schools maintenance and had previously worked maintenance at Northlake Village Apartments. Jerry and his wife are members of Lima Missionary Baptist Church. Jerry was a man of God, who loved his Lord. He enjoyed classic cars and HAM Radio. He loved his wife dearly of almost thirty nine years. Jerry cherished his children and grandchildren very much. Some of his hobbies included playing the guitar and singing classic country music. He was an avid fan of the Tennessee Vols and Dallas Cowboys.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary K. Hagerman of Lima, OH, children, Diane (Kent) Kahn of Lima, OH, Jody (Ron) Wyatt of Monroe, MI, George (Judy) Snyder of Parkersburg, WV, Kevin (Jill) Snyder of Columbus, OH, April (Patrick) Blake of Lima, OH, Stacy (Rick) Mettie of Luna Pier, MI, Brett (Celia) Hagerman of Tampa, FL, Rachel (Lynn Staley) Anders of Covington, KY, Christine Dunlap – Aszmann of Sandy, UT, Rob Hagerman of Holladay, UT, twenty one grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, brother, Dennis (Kathie) Hagerman of Lima, OH, several nieces and nephews, and his ornery dog, Larry Benjamin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Lima Missionary Baptist Church, 3085 Yoder Rd, Fort Shawnee, OH 45806.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Allen County, 3606 Elida Road, Lima, Ohio 45807 or St. Rita’s Hospice, 959 W. North St, Lima, Ohio 45805.
