Jerry A. Meeker, 71 of Harrod, passed away January 9, 2021, at Lima Memorial Health System.

Jerry was born June 11, 1949 in Lima, to Richard and Jean (Inskeep) Meeker, who preceded him in death. On September 21, 1994, he married Jackie (Bailey) Meeker, who survives him in Harrod.

Jerry attended Allen East High School and worked as a construction worker for Williams Excavating, a truck driver for LTC and retired as a Highway Technician (known as Grandpa) for the State of Ohio. He was known for his sense of humor, his love for Harrod, his family and the Lord. Jerry loved going to the Snack Shack to have coffee with the boys and tinkering in the garage.

In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his daughter, Lisa Rasor; son, Tim Meeker; daughter, Tanya Meeker; step-son, Jason (April) Calvert; daughter, Lexie McDorman; grandchildren, Joey, Josh, Katilyn, Jaydah, Dalton, Emily, Lucas, Noah, Calvin, Clayton and Colton; great-grandsons, Sutherland and Levi; brother, David (Karen) Meeker; sisters, Helen (Jerry) Bibler, Karen (Eugene) Wright and Trudi (Greg) Young and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at County Line Church of the Brethren with Rev. Chris Ewing to officiate the service. Burial will follow in Salem Westminster Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 13, 2021, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL.

Memorial contributions may be made to County Line Church of the Brethren Food Pantry where Jerry volunteered.
