Lima – Jedd A. Emans, 57, of Lima passed away Saturday, April 17, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at his residence. He was born in Bluffton on December 21, 1963, to David and Karen Emans, who survive in Pandora.
Jedd graduated in 1982 from Pandora-Gilboa High School and in 1986 from Bowling Green State University, College of Business. Jedd went on to hold a very accomplished and successful career in the tire industry. Regardless of his title, Jedd turned a career into a passion by investing in everyone he came in contact with. He was just the type of guy you wanted on your team. He cherished his relationships and it was evident as people were drawn to him. Jedd lived for the Lord first and foremost, and loved his family fiercely. Leaving a legacy was not something that interested him, rather, all he wanted was for his family to know God personally. While it saddened him to leave behind the ones he loved the most, he was ultimately jazzed for what’s in store for him in Heaven.
Jedd loved the outdoors and being in nature. He loved creating rituals, especially donuts on Saturday mornings with his grandkids. He had a deep passion for his vehicles, especially when it came to keeping them clean and tidy (something he “tried” to instill in his children). He even asked one of his nurses in the hospital if her vehicle was clean! He was often teased by his family for his need for being orderly, especially when it came to raking the stones in his driveway. As Jedd would say, “Every rock has a place.” Jedd loved to travel, especially to his all-time favorite spot, Moab, Utah. His purpose in Moab began as a yearly business trip where he took customers to test tires while driving Jeeps on the trails. He soon discovered he wanted to share this experience with his family. Jedd also loved to give and he lived to give. Although it saddens us all to have to part ways here on this earth, we will march forward living out Jedd’s favorite verse: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)”.
Of all the people he touched and left behind, his most proud achievement in life was marrying his best friend of 36 years, Tamela (Gerdeman) who lovingly supported him throughout his career and during their final days together. He also leaves behind 4 children: Tara (Eddie) Jackson, Noblesville, IN; Leigh (Brendan) Anderson, South Bend, IN; Lauren (Tyler) Breidenbach, Lima; and David, Lima; 7 grandchildren: Grace, Noah, Eden and Levi Jackson; Lucas Anderson; and Toby and Tanner Breidenbach; and his brother Kurt (Valerie) Emans, Bluffton. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Alvin and Marie Augsburger and paternal grandparents Glen and Edna Emans.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. John Mennonite Church, 15988 Rd 4, Pandora, Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 11:00 am with a visitation at 10:00 am.
People wishing to honor Jedd’s lifelong commitment to giving can make donations to St. John Mennonite Church or The Gideons International.
