Jaunita L. Hess, age 94, passed away on April 13, 2022, at 7:30 am, at her residence, surrounded by loving family.

Jaunita was born December 22, 1927 in Lima, Ohio. She was raised by her parents, Norbert Harrison and Gladys “Peggy” Harrison, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Larry G. Hess who preceded her in death on October 28, 1996. She was a nurses cadet at the tail end of World War II, and was a dedicated homemaker and mother for much of her life. She kept herself busy with many activities and projects of all kinds. She loved crafting and working with her hands. she was adept at sewing and working on her home. Her specialty was making perfect homemade gifts for her loved ones, and she always knew how to make holidays extra special. She loved to tease and had a great sense of humor, as well as a knack for always being right. She loved her family above all else and especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Juanita was an exceptional woman and will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Survivors include: children, Patti Miller, Sue Kelly, Ed (Karen) Kelly, Dan (Cindy) Kelly, Mike (Deb) Kelly, and Lorry Hess; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: parents, Norbert Harrison and Gladys “Peggy” Harrison; spouse, Larry G. Hess; children, Kathy Kelly and infant daughter Dawn Hess; as well as brother, Bob (Effie)Pratt.

Private arrangements have been made through Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services. Burial will take place in Preston Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association in Juanita’s honor.
