Janice Margaret Richey was a wife, mother, and valued friend to many. She left this world suddenly on September 25, 2022, at age 77 during her fight with cancer. She quietly passed surrounded by friends and family who loved her.

Janice was born the daughter of Milton Oglesbee and Thelma Oglesbee Richey on Aug 17, 1945, in Lima, Ohio. She was the youngest of nine children including William, Ronald, Philip, Charmaine, and the siblings that survive her, Paula, Robert, Milton Jr., and James. After graduating from high school, Janice entered the Air Force for training. Post-service, she met Joe Richey to whom she married and he adopted her two children, Brooks and Craig to become a family in Kettering, Ohio.

Janice enjoyed a variety of activities including, traveling, playing with her dogs Bandit and Pepper as well as making decorative jewelry. She also had many friends and was a well-respected member of the community in Kettering. She moved back to her hometown of Lima, Ohio after Joe Richey’s passing.

Per Janice’s request, there will be no public funeral. Instead, a private gathering and celebration with her family and relatives will be held.
