Janet E. Rossfeld, age 84 of Elida, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 11:49 a.m., at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 13, 1938 in Lima, OH, to Stanley and Velma (Leasor) Purdy who preceded her in death. She married Larry L. Laibe on Oct. 29, 1954 and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1975. She later married Dr. Charles Arthur Rossfeld on May 26, 2001.

Also surviving are Jan’s children: Andy (Rosanne) Laibe of Phoenix, AZ, Kristi (Scott) Ziehler of Pittsburgh, PA and Lori (Ric) Prince of Hudsonville, MI; Chuck’s children: Susan (John dec’d) Pack of Cincinnati, Michael (Sherry) Rossfeld of Elida, Carol (Steve) Romey of Shawnee and Marcia (Larry) Webb of Lima.

Jan’s grandchildren include: Alex (Kelly) Ziehler, Brittany Ziehler, Jessica (Jared) Manning, Mackenzie Ziehler, Christian (Katie) Prince, Hunter Prince and Dakota (fiance Emily) Prince; and her great-grandchildren: Cambria Ziehler, Mila Ziehler, Peyton Manning, Emmett Manning. Chuck’s grandchildren include: Nicole (Andy) Ash, Zach (Kara) Rossfeld, Bryan (Shannon) Romey, Jack Romey, Noelle Webb and Peri Webb; and his great-grandchildren: Joe Eloise Rossfeld. Jan’s only brother survives, Wilbur (Carol) Dean Purdy of St. Charles, MO.

Jan was preceded in death by an infant daughter Aug. 28, 1956.

Jan was a travel agent for Northwestern Travel Service and American Express. She was a member of South Side Christian Church. She was a member of Phi Beta Psi Sorority, Iota Sigma Chapter and Lima Noon SERTOMA. Her family and traveling were her passions in life.

Her services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, with Rev. Todd Cosart officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida following the service. Visitation will be on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to her funeral on Tuesday.
