James Lee Clemens, 82, of Wapakoneta, passed away January 29, 2020, at 5:12 a.m. in Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born September 8, 1937 in Lima to Arthur LeRoy and Myrtle Evelyn (Freeman) Clemens who preceded him in death. He is survived by his life partner of 35 years, Carla Hancock.
Also surviving are his children: Jeff (Valerie) Clemens, Mark (Valerie) Clemens and James (Heather) Grant all of Columbus, Melissa (Tyrone) Upshaw of Lima, Rhonda (Rodney) Coleman of Columbus and Tamica Grant of Lima; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Carla’s family: Donna (Ron) Stuttler of Lima, David (April) Schultz of Alabama and Kyle (Anita) Hancock of Wapakoneta; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two on the way. He is also survived by the following siblings: Tom (Doris) Clemens of Yellow Springs, Dorothy (Charles dec.) Spencer of Madison, AL and Helen (Don) Campbell of Westlake.
He is preceded in death by a granddaughter and the following brothers: Robert Clemens and William Clemens.
Jim was a fan of Ohio State University. He enjoyed watching westerns on television and making people laugh.
Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Lima.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services.
