Ira Randolph “Randy” Mills, 77 of Elida, passed away December 6, 2021.
Randy was born August 6, 1944 in Logan County, WV, to Ira and Ruthie (Garrett) Mills, who preceded him in death. On September 18, 1965 he married Shirley Mae (Adkins) Mills, who preceded him in death on January 24, 2019.
Randy was a graduate of Chapmanville High School in West Virginia and he received a machining degree from Mayo Technical School. He worked for Dana Corporation for 30 years until his retirement and after his retirement, he worked at East Road Billiards. Randy was an avid hunter and fisherman and the former president of Buckeye Bowman Archery Club. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he was a deacon, treasurer, Sunday school teacher and church bus driver; he loved serving the Lord. Randy made his own arrows and bowstrings and was a talented archer. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Randy is survived by his children, Gregory J. (Lisa Lonsway) Mills, Kenneth (Laurie Zickefoose) Ross Mills and Rebecca Ann (Timothy) Lott; grandchildren, Devonne Everhart, Jesse Mills, Cody Mills, Joshua (Aliah) Mills and Jonathan (Alexis) Mills; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice White and Gail Tomblin and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother, Freddie Mills, Sr. and sisters, Anita Spencer, Kathy Butcher and Carol Pridemore.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on December 9, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL with Rev. Christopher Page to officiate the service. Burial will follow in Elida Greenlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
