Harrod, Ohio
Hunter Lloyd Paxson, age 20, went home to dance with Jesus on Monday, May 16, 2022, at his home.
Hunter was born July 11, 2001 in Lima, OH, to Gus Paxson and Candi (Hunsaker) Hopkins.
Hunter was a 2020 graduate of Allen East High School and was employed as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. Hunter was an avid outdoorsman and athlete who enjoyed playing football, running track, hunting, fishing, helping the Paxson family with sheep and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He was very smart, ornery and determined… as evidenced by his multiple injuries throughout his sports career. He never let it get him down and came back each time stronger than before. He had an infectious smile and laugh that would brighten everyone’s day. Hunter was a person of great faith and belief in his Savior Jesus Christ, which gives his family comfort that they will see him again. His love for others and legacy of giving lives on through his gift of organ donation. Hunter will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his dad, Gus Paxson of Bluffton; mom, Candi and Eric Hopkins of Lima; siblings, Wyatt Paxson, Tanner Paxson, Lane Paxson, Lake Paxson, Lily Paxson, Devyn Hopkins and Caleb Hopkins; grandparents, Walter and Barbara Paxson of Harrod; grandfather, Dennis A. He is preceded in death by his beloved grandma, Barbara Jean (Eversole) Hunsaker and great grandpa, Leonard Deal.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Union Chapel Missionary Church, 4869 Ada Road, Lima, Ohio 45804. Pastor Randy Davis will officiate the service. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Ward Cemetery.
