Galion, Ohio formerly of Lima

Diane Baber, age 81, was peacefully called home to the Lord at 1:50 pm Saturday May 14, 2021, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio with her family by her side.

Diane was born on April 2, 1940, in Lima, OH, to the late George and Mary (Ilten) Stump. On September 17, 1961, she married Harry Baber who preceded her in death on November 2, 2017.

Diane was a graduate of Lima Senior High School. She retired in 1994 from Shawnee Schools where she served as the secretary to the superintendent. Diane enjoyed many hobbies such as bird watching, traveling, sewing and oil painting. Diane was especially proud of her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her three daughters, Angie (Jon Myers) Baber of Galion, Jennifer Jones-Baber of Coppell, TX and Stacie (Neil) Korte of Van Wert; two grandchildren, Brad Korte and Katalina Myers and brother, George “Jimmy” Stump of Columbus.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Kissel.

Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.

Burial will follow at Memorial Parks Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 18, 2021 and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the funeral home.
