Hazel Louise Boroff, 84 of Lima, passed away March 16, 2022, at Springview Manor Nursing Home with her loving family by her side.
Hazel was born February 11, 1938 in Lima, to Ralph and Wanda (Hefner) Tippie, who preceded her in death. On October 2, 1955, she married Clarence M. “Bodie” Boroff, who preceded her in death on June 8, 2015.
Hazel attended Shawnee High School and worked for many years at Moreo Lanes. Hazel enjoyed quilting, camping and fishing. She loved to cook and she was a wonderful cook. Most of all, Hazel loved spending time with her family and she will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Hazel is survived by her children, Donnie (Linda) Boroff, Ronnie Boroff, Randy (Terry) Boroff, Melvin (Darla) Boroff and Wanda (Fred) Biss; daughter-in-law, Jeane Boroff; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Ronnie (Shirley) Tippie, Ralph (Kathy) Tippie, Roger Tippie, Irene (Roy) Hunt and Nancy (Ronnie) Centers and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, including Elizabeth Tippie, who held a special place in Hazel’s heart.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Ralph Boroff; sister, Elizabeth “Dutch” Gladwell and her grandson, Wade Biss.
Funeral service will be held on 11:00 AM, Monday, March 21, 2022 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES – SHAWNEE CHAPEL with Rev. Daniel Messner to officiate the service. Burial will follow in St. Matthews Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice.
