Mary, I was saddened to learn of Bill’s passing. Bill was the Athletic Director at Wilmington College and hired me as the basketball coach in 1976. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and have always had the highest degree of respect for him and the leadership examples that he set daily for those around him. I will continue to keep the Ramseyer family in my thoughts during the days and weeks ahead. Blessings, John Ferguson Richmond, Ky

Mrs. Ramseyer and family, I hope you find comfort and peace in the days ahead. I was recruited by Coach Ramseyer in 73 from Roger Bacon High School in Cincinnati. He was the reason I came to Wilmington College. I played all 4 years under Coach. He was a great coach and and a good man. He will be missed!

Coach Ramseyer truly made a positive impact on my life! He was a great coach as well as a teacher! Our 1964 team was undefeated 9-0! He taught us so much more than football! We lived in Kipton a couple of houses away and my parents also respected him as well! R.I.P. Coach!

Dear Mary and Family, I am sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. I’m glad I got to see him several years ago in Bluffton for homecoming. I’m sorry I never got to visit him at Maple Crest. We have wintered in FortMyers Beach, Florida for 26 years. I always knew Bill would do great things. I was honored to be best man at Mary and Bill’s wedding! With Love and Prayers, Brooks and JEANNINE May

Years ago, while the Ramseyer family lived in Bluffton, Jeri and I were good school friends. Years have passed but not my memory of her. Back then, she invited me to her house to play there on the corner of Grove and Lawn Ave. I retired from MHCO last May but more recently seen a FB post that referenced Bill and his coaching career. I wondered if he wasn’t Jeri’s dad. So saddened to see the obituary. My deepest sympathies to the family. Tricia (Neff) Herrmann

Dear Randy and family, Please know you and the entire family have my deepest condolences with the passing of your father. As we all know, he gave everything is all and we all are better off that we were in Coach's midst at different times. What an incredible father you had. Of course I know all his children know that. The challenge at the college starting football tells so much about his wisdom and work ethic. The region will forever be grateful for his bringing life to something very important. Best regards always and our prayers go with you and the family Greg Baker Clintwood Virginia

I met Coach when he came to Firelands High School my senior year and although I did not play football for him I got to know him fairly well through his phys ed class and being the PA announcer for the home football games. My wife Sally and I had the pleasure of living near Bill and Mary and attending church with them for many years in the Beaufort, SC area. They were gracious hosts for several meals and joined us for a couple of perch dinners through the years. Coach and Mary were simply outstanding people and a couple that provided a role model for all others. We were sad when they left the area to return to Bluffton, OH but understood why as coach's health was beginning to fail. While helping them pack much of his personal items we learned so much more about the man he was. It was a true joy listening to his stories about his coaching experiences especially his years at Firelands. Our thoughts and prayers go out to family he so truly loved. To Mary we wish you the blessing of God and the many beautiful memories you will always have of the love of your life. Peace be with you. Ray & Sally Kneisel
