Gary S. Levitt, 72, passed away at 9:07 am, March 20, 2022 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

He was born January 25, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY, to Meyer “Mike” and Mildred R. “Mickey” (Eaton) Levitt who preceded him in death. On February 9, 1974 he married Frances Scrofani who survives in Lancaster, OH.

Gary was a retired Postmaster for USPS. He was a member of Temple Beth Israel-Shaare Zedek. Gary was a US Army Veteran. a lifetime member of the Lima Noon Optimist Club, a member of the Delphos Kiwanis Club, member and past president of Delphos Rotary and Chamber of Commerce. He was founder of the Museum of Postal History, Delphos and vice president of the National Association of Postmasters of the US. He was a master mason of Hope Lodge 214 F & AM and 32nd degree mason, order of the Scottish Rite.

Survivors include: a Son, Gregory J. (Rebecca) Levitt of Canal Winchester; a Daughter, Sara J. Levitt of Blacklick; 3 Grandchildren – Jeremy, Willow, and Cecilia.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm April 8, at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Hope Lodge Masonic services will be held at 7:30 pm Friday. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am April 9, with Rabbi Jonathan Jackson officiating. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1275 and the US Army. The family asks that masks be worn for visitation and services.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Temple Beth Israel-Shaare Zedek, Shriners Hospital, or St. Judes Childrens Hospital
