Frank P. Madonia, age 93, passed away February 8, 2021, at 10:10 pm, at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Frank was born June 29, 1927 in Lima, OH, to Pietro and Maria Madonia, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 27, 1997 he married Carol (Boatman) Madonia who survives in Lima.
He served with the United States Army and he retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for many years, and greatly enjoyed volunteering, ushering, and being active in his church community. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #54, The Fraternal Order of the Eagles Arie #370, the VFW post 1275, as well as a proud member of the UAW local 1219. Whether he was gardening, fishing, or even ice-fishing, Frank loved to be outdoors. Golfing and bowling were some of his favorite hobbies. He was a jack of all trades and extremely handy. He could build, create, or repair anything that he set his mind to, and always put these skills to use for anyone that needed them. Frank loved his family above all else, and greatly enjoyed spending time with his children, and grandchildren. He especially adored his wife Carol, and he always took great care to never be too far from her. Frank was an exceptional man, and will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
