Eugenia Kay “Jean” Hinkle, 81 of Lima, passed away October 27, 2022, at her home.

Jean was born May 7, 1941 in Bluffton to Kermit and Ruth (Geiser) Kibele, who preceded her in death. On June 19, 1965, she married Owen Hinkle, who preceded her in death on November 28, 2016.

Jean graduated from Bluffton High School in 1959 and worked as a Home Healthcare Aid for Comfort Keepers until her retirement in 2012. She was a member of Pilgrim Holiness Church and she was an avid reader. Jean loved crosswords, word search puzzles and working in her garden. She loved all the babies in the family; she would sit and hold them for hours. Most of all, Jean loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Tammy Harris; grandchildren, Chasity (Chris) Saine and Hannah Harris; brothers, Kim (Susie) Kibele, Jan (Paula) Kibele, Don Kibele and Tom (Sherry) Kibele; sister, Kay (Don) Wade; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews and her cat, Misters.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Kibele and Keith Kibele.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Lima Pilgrim Holiness Church, 2100 Breese Rd., Lima, OH 45806.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM before the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
