Eugene “Gene” Miller Endicott, 75 of Lima, passed away February 9, 2021, at his home.
Gene was born February 1, 1946 in Lima; he was raised by Addie Endicott and Glen Freed, who preceded him in death. On December 16, 1967, he married Lyn (Pepple) Endicott, who survives him in Lima.
Gene attended Perry High School and worked for many years as a machine repairman at Ford Motor Company until he retired in 2012. He was a proud United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict, a member of the Moose Lodge 199 and a former member of VFW Post 1275. Gene loved old cars, going to car shows and vacationing with his wife; especially going on cruises, 28 total. He was a food connoisseur who enjoyed eating at the Kewpee, Fat Jacks and Happy Daz. Most of all, Gene enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Gene is survived by his children, Michael Endicott of Van Wert, Jeffrey (Sandy) Endicott of Norwalk, IA, Christopher Endicott of Lima, Bradley (E’Neal) Endicott of Seminole, FL, Randall Endicott of Lima and Michelle (Stephen) Root of Morgantown, WV; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Farler; brother, Walt (Kathy) Freed of Eustis, FL; sisters, Cathy (David) Thomas of Rineyville Creek, KY and Regina (James) Prindle of Elizabethtown, KY and his dog, Bella.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Dawn Endicott and his sister, Donna Hughes.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, February 12, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL with Rev. Bryan Bucher to officiate the service.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
