Ethel R. Lippi, age 87, passed away June 27, 2021, at 7:30 pm, at the Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center. Ethel was born July 23, 1933, in Van Wert, OH, to Emil and Minnie E. (Goldsmith) Feltner who preceded her in death. On November 25, 1970, she married Dante H. Lippi who preceded her in death on September 24, 2018.
Ethel was a 1950 graduate of Lima Central High School. She had worked for the Bon Ton Bakery and then eventually took a position with Westinghouse where she spent her career and retired as a supervisor. Ethel was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church. She loved her kitties, canning produce from her garden. Ethel also loved to winter with her husband in Florida until it became to much to make the trip.
Ethel is survived by her children: James (Sarah) Gerleman, John (Bridget) Gerleman, and Linda Gerleman all of Lima, OH, 4 grandchildren: Jenny (David) Martin, Eric Gerleman, Paul Haney and Cristin (Russ) Crane, 5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters: Charlotte (Gene) Stumbaugh of Westerville, OH and Louise (Harlan) Parks of Hollywood, MD. She was preceded in death by 6 siblings.
There will be a funeral service held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 10:00 am at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Rev. Charlotte Hefner. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery following the service.
Friends may call on Thursday one hour prior to services at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
