Esther (Snow) Dumm, 102, died on February 3, 2018 in Columbia, SC.

Esther was born in Troy, OH to William H. and Rena (Silvers) Snow on March 2, 1915. In 1935, she married Harry A. Dumm, who preceded her in death.

Esther was one of seven children. She resided in Lima until moving to be with her daughter in Columbia, SC. Esther graduated from Harrod High School and she served as a polling supervisor for elections held in Lima. She was an active member of Epworth Methodist Church (now Family of Faith Methodist Church on Bellefontaine Ave), XYZ Club and taught a woman’s Sunday school class. Esther was involved in the Woman’s Group and served on committees and in executive leadership roles in the local and state organizations. She was skilled in knitting and many other artistic and needle crafts and she enjoyed sharing her knowledge with others.

Esther is survived by her daughters, E. Lee Vought of Stuart, FL and Marie Frueh of Columbia SC; nephews, Gary (Elaine Jarzabek) Cowden, Ron (Ali) Cowden, Anthony Ewing and Stephen Ewing and her nieces, Nancy (Al) Smith, Janet Cowden, Kay (Jerry) Weeks and Rene Mae Telles. Thank you to the family for your support.

In addition to her husband, Esther is preceded in death by her son, David A. Dumm and son-in-law, Kimber E. Vought.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. There will be a luncheon at the funeral home following the gathering. A private family burial will be held in Salem Westminster Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family of Faith Methodist Church.
