Esther “Maxine” Lombardo, age 93, was called into her Heavenly Home at 6:22 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at her home.
Maxine was born January 24, 1928 in York Center, OH, to the late Leonard and Florence Stratton. On June 11, 1946 she married the love of her life Patrick Anthony Lombardo who preceded her in death on January 8, 1992.
Maxine was a graduate of the St. Rita’s School of Nursing and retired from the St. Rita’s Medical Center after 30 years of service. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Lima First Assembly of God Church where she was very active in the ladies organizations for many years. Maxine enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart and baking cookies for the Holidays. She especially loved vacationing and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, David A. Lombardo of Lima, Patricia A. (Harold) Stoner of Lima, Mary A. (Chris) Reiff of Lima; five grandchildren, Charlene (Gordon) McCloskey, Jim Stoner, Deb (Mike) McCool, Devan (Nathan) Offenbacher and Michael Reiff; five great-grandchildren, Jenna Stoner, Lea Stoner, Gabriel Offenbacher, Lucas Offenbacher and Emmett Offenbacher and sister, Mary Jane Steed-White of Lima.
In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by two sons, Richard J. Lombardo and Robert A. Lombardo; four brothers, Lewis (Lucille) Stratton, Clifford Stratton, Dallas (May) Stratton, Gene (Blondie) Stratton and three sisters, Betty (Richard) Miller, Lucille (Bernard) Shark and Peggy (Dick) Stepleton.
Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor
Randy Davis officiate the service. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 23, prior to the service at the funeral home.
