Edward “Ed” L. Goldsberry,86, passed away April 27, 2022, at 3:09 am, at his residence surrounded by his family. Ed was born February 20, 1936, in Lima, OH, to Leo W. and Mary E. (McFarland) Goldsberry who preceded him in death. On April 16, 1955, he married Mary L. (Moore) Goldsberry who survives in Lima, OH.
Ed was a 1954 graduate of St. Gerard’s High School. He then proudly joined the U.S. Army serving from 1954-1956. He began working for Vistron in 1956 which then became Standard Oil Chemical and then eventually BP Chemical where he retired in 1993 as a shift supervisor. Ed also worked for BP Chemical in Green Lake Texas and also Sasol in Secunda, South Africa. He was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church. Ed loved playing tennis at Orchard Hill and Westside Tennis Club. Above all else, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending all their events.
In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his children: Edward (Laura) Goldsberry, Jeanne (Mark) Priddy and David (Jennifer) Goldsberry all of Lima, OH, 8 grandchildren: Jeannie (Greg) Bowersock, Michelle (Jeremy) Duncan, Brent (Ana Petre) Goldsberry, Brad (Ashley) Goldsberry, Nicole (Cody) Maxwell, Christy (Matt) Sterrett, Brittany Goldsberry and Brandon Goldsberry, 10 great grandchildren: Craig Conner, Jayden Priddy, Jordan Duncan, Jacob Duncan, Alex Goldsberry, Max Goldsberry, Kayden Goldsberry, Zack Goldsberry, Madelyn Sterrett and Kendyl Sterrett.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11:00 am at the St. Charles Catholic Church. Officiating the service will be Fr. Kent Kaufman. Entombment of cremated remains will follow in the Gethsemani Cemetery Mausoleum where military honors will be provided by the VFW #1275 and the U.S. Army.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Hospice or L.C.C. Annual Fund. The CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL is honored to be assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
