Edith F. Huffer, 84, passed away on December 8, 2020, at 11:05 pm, at Lima Manor Nursing Home.
Edith was born December 15, 1935 in Lima, OH, to Leonard and Winona (Basinger) Warner who both preceded her in death. On June 3, 1956 she married Walter L. Huffer who survives in Lima, OH.
Edith graduated from Lima South High School in 1953. She worked in the office at DWG Cigar company as a payroll clerk for four years. She later became a realtor in the Lima area for over thirty years. She was honored as a co-salesperson of the year in 1982 along with her friend Loretta Evans, by the Lima Board of Realtors. She served as President of the State Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors in 1995. She also enjoyed cultivating her Roses. Edith loved her husband Walter, and cherished her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Edith is survived be her husband, Walter L. Huffer of Lima, OH, children, Alan (Cathy) Huffer of Lima, OH, David (Janice) Huffer of Lima, OH, Thomas (Starla) Huffer of Lima, OH, grandchildren, Jeremy Huffer and fiancé Oliva of Delaware, OH, Jessica (John) Sideris of Columbus, OH, Michael Huffer of Lima, OH, Melanie (Shea) Curl of Lima, OH, Christopher (Courtney) Huffer of Lima, OH, Evan Huffer of Lima, OH, Alex Huffer of Lima, OH, Marsha (Logan) Buettner of Spencerville, OH, great-grandchildren, Sam, Malia, and Noah Curl, Kennedy, Kyler and Kannon Huffer, Isabelle and Alexandra Sideris, sister-in-law, Beverly Huffer of Lima, OH, brother-in-law, Herbert Huffer of Sylvania, OH and former daughter-in-law, LeAnn Sorrell of Lima, OH
She is preceded in death by her infant brother, Glenn Warner, brothers-in-law, Milo Huffer, Winston Huffer, Donald B. Huffer, Daniel Huffer, sisters-in-law, Pauline Cox, Annetta Clevenger, Mary L. Clevenger Huffer, Patsy Walborn Huffer and Dorothy Estes Huffer, paternal grandparents, David Warner and Cora Higbie Warner, and maternal grandparents, Frederick Basinger and Calista Beckwith Basinger.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 10:00am to 11:00am at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Due to Covid-19, we ask that all folks please bring and wear a mask as well as please practice social distancing and respect the families wishes.
A graveside service to follow in Reynolds Cemetery, near Rimer, OH. Pastor John Maynard to officiate.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
