Douglas G. MacDonald, 87, passed away September 13, 2018 at Lima Memorial Health System. Douglas was born January 2, 1931 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to the late Gordon and Eugenia (Brizzolari) MacDonald. On May 26, 1950 he married Joanne Clutinger MacDonald and she survives.
Douglas served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Lima Ford Engine Plant where he had been an electrician. Douglas enjoyed NASCAR, gardening, auto restoration, model trains, fishing and boating. He was an excellent cook who always took charge of the kitchen. Douglas was a devoted husband, father, grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne MacDonald of Harrod; two sons, Dudley MacDonald of Bluffton, Stanley (Terri) MacDonald of Springfield, Ohio; five daughters, Rosalie MacDonald of Lima, Carol (Steve) Starkey of Lima, Janie (Clyde) Wireman of Bluffton, Darlene (Jerry) Yarnetsky of Oxford, Ohio, Sharon (Dick) Sidders of Bellefontaine; twenty-one grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a brother, Art MacDonald of Pennsylvania.
Douglas was preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon MacDonald, Norman MacDonald and a sister, Jean Paulson.
Private family services will be held.
