Donald “Don” Eugene Knarr, age 80 years, passed away on November 24, 2022, at 7:42pm, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 18, 1942 in Wapakoneta, OH to Eugene and Alberta (Market) Knarr who both preceded him in death. On September 19, 1964 he married Sandra Kay Moore Knarr who survives in Elida, OH.
Also surviving are their children: Mark Donald (Laura) Knarr of Wapakoneta and Tricia Kay (Charles) Reese of Marysville; grandchildren, Kristin Knarr, Connor Knarr, Shaina O’Keefe and Kylie O’Keefe; step grandchildren: Ryan (Daniel) Robinson, Kelsey (Jared) Hansen, Austin Reese and Morgan Reese.
Don and Sandra were former owners of Wrights Store, a variety store in downtown Wapakoneta. After closing, he worked at JCPenney as a salesperson and warehouse manager for over thirty-five years. He was a 1960 graduate of Wapak St. Joe’s High School and a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was a former member of the Wapak Jaycees and he had been an employee at Bass Pro Shops in Tennessee where they previously resided. He and Sandra enjoyed hiking in the mountains of Tennessee. He loved photography, traveling, drawing and gardening. He cherished his wife dearly, spending time with his children and going to all his grandchildren’s activities.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 12:00pm, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL HOMES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Dan Gutman to officiate the service.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm and one hour prior to the service at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
