Dolores E. Messman, age 79, passed away October 16, 2021, at 3:39 pm, at the Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center. Dolores was born March 7, 1942, in Lima, OH, to Charles and Margaret (Erwin) Weaver who preceded her in death.
Dolores was a 1960 graduate of Lima Senior High School. She also attended Indiana University South Bend where she earned a bachelor’s degree in radiology and also as a registered nurse. Dolores had worked as a radiologist technician at the TB Hospital. She had also worked as a medical secretary working for several local doctors around the Lima area. She ended her career working as an assistant bailiff at the Lima Municipal Court retiring in 1995. Dolores had an extreme love for her cats.
Dolores is survived by her son, Todd (Shannda) Messman of Fair Haven, MI, 3 nieces: Elaine (Rick) VanVoorhis and Deb (Jack) Meinberg both of Wapakoneta, OH and Linda (John) Hessler of Lima, OH. She was preceded in death by her previous spouse, Raymond E. Messman, a son, Mark R. Messman and 3 siblings: Eugene Weaver, Carolyn Feigert and Ronald “Ronnie” Weaver.
There will be memorial visitation held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Following the visitation there will be a brief time for those attending to share personal memories of Dolores. Burial of cremated remains will be held privately at a later date in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Deb’s Dogs Pet Rescue @ P.O. Box 1002 Lima, OH, 45801.
