Diana May (Shapter) Taylor, age 78, was called into her Heavenly Home at 4:43 pm, Monday, March 8, 2021, at the Liberty Retirement Community of Lima with her loving family by her side.

Diana was born July 8, 1942 in Fremont, OH, to Alan Richard and Barbara Jane (Hamilton) Shapter. On April 27, 1963 she married Larry Alan Taylor.

Diana was a 1960 graduate of Shawnee High School and attended the Northwestern Business School of Commerce. She had previously worked as a telephone operator for the United Telephone Company and also worked as a teller at First National and Tower Bank in Lima. Diana retired in 1998 from Allen County Job and Family Services, after 28 years of service. She loved to shop and especially enjoyed giving to others.

She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie R. (Mike G.) Moenter and Barbara L. (Michael E.) Barron both of Delphos; three grandchilden, Justin M. (Whitney Fiedler) Moenter, Sarah L. Moenter and Ryan P. Bissonnette all of Delphos; mother, Barbara J. Shapter of Bluffton; brother, James R.(Betty) Shapter of Bluffton and a nephew, John A. Shapter of Haskins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Alan Richard Shapter and a sister-in-law, Carol Ann Shapter.

Funeral services will begin at 12:00 pm Friday, March 12, 2021, at CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Mark Walus will officiate the service from Berne Trinity United Methodist Church, Berne,Indiana.

The family receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
