Derrick Eugene Williams, age 58, passed away on March 25, 2022, at 9:48 pm, at his residence surrounded by his family. Derrick was born July 9, 1963, in Lima, OH, to James Davis Dillard and Doris Ann (Morris) Williams. On May 7, 1993, he married Maurita C. (Winburn)Williams who survives in Lima.
Derrick had attended Lima Senior High School and the University of Northwestern Ohio. He had worked as a factory worker with Whemco and a few other local factories when he was younger. Derrick loved playing cards with his associates and friends, watching March Madness with his step-son Maurice and loved his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Derrick is survived by his companion, Cynthia “Cindy” Oglesbee of Lima, OH, a daughter, Dyesha (Porshia) Perry of Phoenix, AZ, a daughter, Danielle Brownlow of Dayton, OH, a step-son, Maurice Meeks of Lima, OH, a step-son, Justin Meeks of Lima, OH, a step-daughter, Falena (Terrence) Grigsby of Lima, OH, 3 grandsons: DaeQwan Williams, Davontae Williams and Sebastian Brownlow, 8 siblings: Rachelle Carter of Lima, OH, Linda (Tim) Upshaw of Lima, OH, Stacy Brown of Lima, OH, Marsha Dillard of Atlanta, GA, Dewayne (Jeannetta) Carter of Lima, OH, Raymond (Kimberley) Williams of Lima, OH, Jamie Williams of Lima, OH and Isaiah (Laura) Williams of Lima, OH, 3 special cousins: Cletus Cannon, Anthony Harris and Glen Seay, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Willie Mae Davis and maternal grandparents, Okford “Red” and Annie Mae (Carrington)Morris and his sister, Sandra Dyous-Overmyer.
There will be a memorial service held on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 3:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Pastor H. Frank Taylor.
